Another year has passed which means it is time to compile our annual Interior Design Powerlist, comprising of the 50 most influential and creative individuals in the Middle East’s growing design industry. From Lebanon to Dubai, we’ve worked to find those who are maintaining their position of power or just building a niche within the market. From designers to contractors to gallery owners, our list is varied and extensive with old and new names topping our chart.
#43 Ellen Søhoel, former Bishop - As founder of one of Dubai’s top luxury interior design firms, Ellen Søhoel manages the day-to-day aspects of the company’s general operations. While her former husband and partner Paul Bishop takes care of the hospitality, retail and commercial projects, Søhoel is well known for her tending to the FF&E as well as managing the residential projects that the firm takes on. Under the Bishops' guidance, the design firm has gone on to win more than 20 awards internationally and nationally for projects across many sectors, as well as the CID Awards for Boutique Interior Design Firm of the Year. The Bishops have also built solid relationships with high-end brands like Armani.
