Identity Magazine Design Awards – 2015

The inaugural identity Design Awards 2015 gala - in association with DEPA brought together over 300 of the regions most prominent designers and retailers. The new Intercontinental Dubai Marina was the venue for the event where the design competitions winners were revealed.

Two members of the id Design Awards International jury - our Head of Jury, architect Marco Piva and Dutch designer Richard Hutten - jetted in to be part of the celebrations. Attendees voted the Louvre Abu Dhabi by Jean Nouvel as their Project of the Future, while the landscaping by Deserk INK at Akoya Oxygen (itself winner of the Residential Exterior catergory) won the Design of the Year award.

In the December issue, we will publish the winning projects.

The 17 winners took home trophies designed by Danish architect Alvar Aalto from littala, and limited edition Juicy Salifs by Philippe Starck from Alessi. The Design of the Year winners also won a two night stay at the Excelsior Gallia Hotel in Milan, designed by Marco Piva.

Our guests carried home gift bags made from Kvadrat's Divina fabric filled with some designer treats including id's custom blended room fragrance from Luxury Visions, Alessi bottle openers, and glass votives from ittala.
